CWADM is not one genre, one protagonist, or one kind of story. It is a connected fictional universe built to support different books, characters, places, eras, and points of view without asking every story to become the same thing.
A story may begin with a family, a meal, a mystery, a marriage, an institution, a battlefield, a workshop, or a question about the wider world. What connects them is not a single genre. It is attention to how people live with what they build, inherit, protect, desire, govern, remember, and leave behind.
