WHAT THIS ROAD HOLDS
Hospitality is not decoration. It is infrastructure.
The Table is one of six Roads through the fictional world of CWADM—a way into its food, hospitality, culinary culture, service, ceremony, and the human work of gathering people well.
Meals may be intimate or political, ordinary or extraordinary. What matters is the attention behind them: what was prepared, who was considered, who is welcomed, and what becomes possible once people sit down together.
Across CWADM, kitchens, dining rooms, gardens, orchards, cellars, ingredients, chefs, staff, craft, and the systems behind a meal are treated as part of the world—not scenery around it. Food can carry memory, affection, status, negotiation, grief, desire, restraint, or simple pleasure. Hospitality can reveal character without needing to announce itself.
Not every CWADM story stays at the table. But when food, service, welcome, or gathering matter, they are meant to matter for a reason.
